Agricultural vocational school; passed the apprenticeship certification examination

1990: Passed the Meisterprüfung (“master craftsperson examination”) for agriculture
1990 - 1993: Project assistant for Regionalmanagement NÖ Süd

1990 - 1993: Matriculation studies via continuing education (passed oral matriculation exam on June 22, 1993)

1993 - 1998: Agricultural Sciences and Agricultural Economics studies at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna, and the ETH-Zurich

1998 - 2001: Doctorate studies at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna

1998 - 2000: Assistant at the Institute of Agricultural Economics (of the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna)

Since 2000: AWI staff member

Since 2006: Executive Director of the Austrian Society of Agricultural Economics (ÖGA)

Since 1999: Guest professor at the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna

  • Socioeconomic analyses on the farm level, with a primary focus on milk production, organic farming and mountain farming
  • Assessment of policy impact on Austrian agriculture (Common Agricultural Policy and EU sugar market reforms)
  • Economic analyses of alternative production systems in agriculture (e.g., continuous grazing systems in milk production)
  • International competitive analyses on milk production (IFCN network)
  • Further development of activity-based accounting schemes within the federal working groupsStatistical analyses of structural data for the national Green Report
